Managing Director

The PDI Managing Director is responsible for the overall leadership, strategic planning, and operational management of our education program. 

This role oversees all aspects of the school’s operations, from budget planning and staff management to program development and community engagement.

Financial Management: 30%

    • Develop annual budget in collaboration with owner and accountant to increase revenue and ensure financial sustainability.
    • Oversee financial operations including registration, tuition, accounts receivable/payable, and payroll.
    • Monitor financial performance to ensure the school’s financial health.

Program Development and Operations: 30%

    • Manage logistics including scheduling, facilities, and communications.
    • Coordinate with Artistic Director and producer for student performances and showcases.
    • Plan and execute class schedules using online registration platform.
    • Oversee class attendance, emergency contacts, and communication with stakeholders.
    • Update handbooks and organize performance media.
    • Implement and manage scholarship and work-study programs.

Staff Management and Facilities: 25%

    • Communicate with staff to align vision and resolve issues.
    • Recruit and hire staff as needed.
    • Handle negotiations and ensure contract compliance.
    • Manage faculty performance, student issues, and facility needs.
    • Serve as HR point person for personnel matters.
    • Marketing and Community Engagement: 15%
    • Develop and implement marketing strategies with Marketing Manager and Artistic Director.
    • Cultivate partnerships with local organizations to enhance community engagement.
    • Represent the school at events and act as spokesperson in the community.

Qualifications:

    • Demonstrated leadership experience, guiding teams to achieve strategic goals.
    • Proficiency in budget planning and financial analysis, ensuring the school’s financial health and growth.
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills for effective team leadership and motivation.
    • Commitment to exceptional customer service, addressing concerns promptly and professionally.
    • Knowledge of facilities management to provide a safe and conducive learning environment.
    • Marketing proficiency and community outreach experience to promote the school and expand its reach.
    • Ability to cultivate partnerships with local organizations and enhance access to the arts.

Nice to Have:

    • Bachelor’s degree in relevant fields, with previous leadership experience preferred.
    • Understanding of dance or performing arts education is advantageous.

Terms & Compensation

19 hours a week. Hybrid schedule with ability to work from home with a few afternoons in the studio and some weekends required.

    • Yearly Salary: $24,000
    • 4 weeks paid vacation
    • 2 weeks working remotely, ie Christmas Holiday
