Performing Art Teacher

Prince Dance Institute is accepting resumes from qualified performing arts instructors for our summer and fall 2024 semesters and beyond.

The ideal teacher believes in and is passionate about their artistic craft and the mission of Prince Dance Institute, fosters a safe and nurturing learning environment and is responsible, punctual, and organized.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Establish an environment where students are excited about learning.
  • Create and follow class curriculum for each semester; prepare lesson plans for assigned classes and substitutes as needed.
  • Teach classes at different levels and ages (e.g., beginners and advanced)
  • Manage classroom activities such as arrival, attendance, transitions, dismissal.
  • Evaluate students’ progress and skills; make recommendations and provide feedback for improvement and guides qualified students towards professional careers and training programs when appropriate.
  • Works with the Artistic Director and fellow teachers on yearly shows and choreographs and rehearses dance/aerial/theatre/musical routines for performances.
  • Work with school management team, other teachers, staffs, parents, or students to improve quality, resolve issues, and always maintain a safe and fun learning environment.
  • Attend scheduled rehearsals, performances, staff meetings and occasional community/charity events as required.
  • Teach private lessons as needed.
  • Commits to a year with Prince Dance Institute to ensure quality and stability for our students.

Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of performing art technique, terminology, and repertoire.
  • Proven experience as a teacher in your field of performing art.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to motivate and inspire students of all ages and skill levels.
  • Patient, enthusiastic, and passionate about teaching.
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed.
  • Certification or relevant degree preferred, but not required.
