Shawna Gordon has always loved the creative arts. At age four, she started dancing and performing with Lori Head School of Dance in Idaho. At ten, Shawn began competing in dance competitions with Julie’s Jazzworks Dance Company in Idaho and Utah. She has performed with choirs and bands, shared her poetic wisdom in spoken word events, and enjoys hiking, painting, and making jewelry.
Her passion for Trapeze Dance began in Hilo in 2010 at Hawai‘i Community College, where she studied Trapeze and Modern Dance with Annie Bunker. During this time, she also performed with Center Stage Dance Studio in the disciplines of Ballet, Hip Hop, and Contemporary dance. Shawna feels blessed to have lived on the Big Island since 2003 and has been dancing with Prince Dance Institute since 2016. When teaching, Shawna’s passion and encouragement inspire others to find their unique style of expression.
