Amanda moved to Big Island from New York July 2023 and has been LOVING island life, including stepping into the creative leadership role as Artistic Director of Prince Dance Institute.
She says she danced out of the womb, first asking to be a ballerina for Halloween at 18 months and begging to take dance classes until her inaugural creative movement class at the age of 4.
Her first professional performance job was at the Kennedy Center in Washington, DC with Debbie Allen at 11 years old. Amanda also performed with the Moscow Ballet at 13 years old, on stages around the world including Italy and Spain when she was 15, at the New 42nd Street Theater when she was 16, at NY City Center in NYC, at the Stanislavsky Theater in Moscow, Russia, and more.
She’s worked with Pittsburgh Ballet Theater, Joffrey Ballet, Francesca Harper Project, as well as dance legends like Ann Reinking, Twyla Tharp, and Desmond Richardson and Dwight Rhoden of Complexions Contemporary Ballet.
Most notably, Amanda performed 9 years as a Rockette at Radio City Music Hall where she was also in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, on The Today Show, America’s Got Talent, the Michael Bublé Christmas Special, and more.
Amanda is elated to be filling a role where she can not only empower next generations to utilize the mind/body connection dancing fosters to feel confident in their creative self expression, but also to be guiding and empowering the incredible teaching artists on staff in continuing to hone their craft both personally and professionally and bringing more one-of-a-kind performances to the local community.
