James Imai began dancing in high school by imitating the movements of his favorite dancers and choreographers before receiving more formal instruction online and in person at Center Stage Dance Alliance. In college he was a founding member of the INT Dance Squad where he taught and choreographed for 6 years. He also does musical theater, having performed in productions like Aladdin, Beauty and the Beast, and Be More Chill.
In addition to teaching for Prince Dance Institute, James also teaches Hip Hop at Center Stage Dance Alliance and E.B. de Silva Elementary school, and is a recurring choreographer for the annual Dance Collective held at the University of Hawaii at Hilo.
