Amanda McCormick

Amanda moved to Big Island from New York, and danced out of the womb first asking to be a ballerina for Halloween at 18 months and begging to take dance classes until her inaugural creative movement class at the age of 4.

Her first professional performance job was at the Kennedy Center in Washington, DC with Debbie Allen at 11 years old. Amanda also performed with the Moscow Ballet at 13 years old, on stages around the world including Italy and Spain when she was 15, at the New 42nd Street Theater when she was 16, at NY City Center in NYC, at the Stanislavsky Theater in Moscow, Russia, and more.

She’s worked with Pittsburgh Ballet Theater, Joffrey Ballet, FHProject, as well as dance legends like Ann Reinking, Twyla Tharp, Desmond Richardson and Dwight Rhoden of Complexions Contemporary Ballet.

Most notably, Amanda performed 9 years as a Rockette at Radio City Music Hall where she was also in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, on The Today Show, on America’s Got Talent, in the Michael Bublé Christmas Special, and more.

She loves empowering next generations to feel good in their bodies and personal movement style, and to utilize the mind/body connection dancing fosters as cathartic, creative self-expression.
