Mandy Abernathy Headshot

Mandy Abernathy is from California, where she danced, performed, and competed in ballet for 12 years. After retiring, she began to dance just for fun. She has an AA in Early Childhood Development, a BA in Liberal/Biblical studies, and is a credentialed elementary school teacher (k-8). Mandy has continued her dance education through Rhee Gold DanceLife Connecticut 2021 and Las Vegas 2023, in creative movement, ballet, lyrical, jazz, acro and tap. She also holds PBT certification.

For many years, Mandy ran ballet classes out of her home, but from 2018-2022, Mandy taught in the Pacific Northwest at a recreational dance studio. She taught: ballet, pointe, creative movement, lyrical, tap, and worship. She also began a performing special needs program, STARS! for her daughter, who has severe Autism. In 2021 she directed, choreographed, staged, and costumed the Nutcracker at Fearless Dance NW in Graham, Washington.

Her main focus as a dance teacher is to create a place where your child feels special and knows they are loved. No matter the talent or skill, her goal is to foster the love of dance that is born in all of us, and build confidence in each child as a person, helping them to be the best version of themselves, both on and off the stage.
